This is the first Estwing I've ever bought. I doubt I'll buy any more. The handle is extremely comfortable. It ended up nice and smooth but you can feel the leather layers slightly. The grip is nice without being too much. I am sure I wouldn't have liked the lacquer. I'm pretty happy with how it came out.
