If you want to upgrade grinders, there are many available. Wilmont, oregon blade maker, and Polar Forge are 3 names that come to mind that offer good grinders for low $$. They offer kits, which means you will have to assemble. I have Wilmont LB1000 that cost $800 then I added motor, VFD, wiring, and second tool rest for a total of $1100. YMMV.

I recently purchased the Oregon Blade Maker Grinder. It is a very solid, well built machine. I purchased the chassis, drive wheel, work rest, 1.5 hp motor, variable speed drive, and a bunch of belts and ended up around the $1200 mark. Now I remember, you're looking at the Oregon Blade Maker Grinder - you'll need a nice plate of aluminum (or steel) at least 3/8" would be nice for the aluminum to bolt the grinder and motor to.
